The firm will now count on a team of university professors and leading academics who will contribute specialised legal knowledge and provide training to the team on the most current legal challenges.
act legal Spain is pleased to announce the creation of its Academic Council—an initiative driven by Professor Miguel Casino, Of Counsel at the firm and Chair of Administrative Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), who also assumes the role of its first president. The new Council has been established as an ad honorem academic advisory body of the firm and is initially composed of its president and six other distinguished professors of law from a range of legal disciplines. Together, they will support the analysis of current legal issues and enhance the firm’s internal training.
The Academic Council is conceived as a space for academic exchange and reflection, bridging legal scholarship and professional practice. Through regular meetings, it will assess major regulatory and case law developments across various areas of law, offering an updated perspective on key legal topics. In addition, the Council’s members are expected to deliver training sessions to the firm’s lawyers, with the aim of consolidating their legal expertise and ability to respond to the evolving demands of the legal market.
A commitment to legal excellence and innovation
The establishment of the Academic Council represents a further step in act legal Spain’s strategy to position itself as a leading law firm in the field of corporate legal advisory services, aligned with the needs of an increasingly complex and globalised environment. Cristina de Santiago, Managing Partner of the firm, highlights the importance of this initiative in a constantly evolving legal context:
“Having the support of an Academic Council enables us to remain at the forefront of legal knowledge and to offer even more robust and specialised advice to our clients. This Council reflects our firm commitment to excellence and to the continuous development of our team.”
In this regard, Cristina de Santiago is confident that the initiative will have a positive impact on the quality of the firm’s services:
“Combining professional practice with academic knowledge is, without a doubt, a winning formula to address today’s legal challenges—and those to come.”
