act legal Spain has appointed Silvia Vela Ruiz as Of Counsel, reinforcing its capabilities in aviation, space and defence law.

With more than two decades of experience in key companies such as Babcock International Group, Avincis Group, Renault and Iveco-Bus, Silvia specialises in managing projects related to defence and aerospace, which demand a deep technical understanding of programme lifecycles, regulatory frameworks, and cooperation mechanisms between industry, government and international organisations.

A Law graduate from the Complutense University of Madrid and holder of an MBA from the University of Strathclyde (United Kingdom), she has developed her career across both industry and public administration, gaining extensive expertise in legal affairs and project management within the aerospace and technology sectors.

Founder of LegAire, Silvia is an expert in aerospace, automotive and new technologies law, and combines her professional practice with her role as lecturer in Aeronautical and Space Law at ICADE.

She will strengthen a strategic practice area for act legal Spain at a time which, as she points out, “offers enormous opportunities while posing major legal complexities.”
