act legal Czech Republic won the new category of Energy and Energy Projects in this year’s prestigious ratings of law firms „Law Firm of the Year“ by EPRAVO.CZ.

Eight multi-service-centers in Germany for EUR 85 million

Summit relies on act legal Germany for the acquisition of eight multi-service-centers in Germany from Fortress Immobilien AG for EUR 85 million.

Most of the acquired properties are located in A-cities, close to the city center and on busy streets. They are fully let to a great mix of renowned and profitable tenants. The aggregate annual net rent is currently approx. € 5.8 million per year and will increase to approx. € 6.1 million in the medium term. The average minimum term of all leases is ca. 10 years.

The acquired portfolio, with net lettable area of 58,000 m², was developed by Fortress in cooperation with the general planer AIP Planungs GmbH between 2005 and 2007. The asset management of the portfolio remains with Fortress Immobilien AG.

act legal Czech Republic advises JANUS spol. s r.o. on the sale of a company

Lawyers from ŘANDA HAVEL LEGAL represent the owners of JANUS spol. s r.o., a distributor of Kyocera brand products in the CR and SR, in the sale of 100% of their shares to the Dutch company KYOCERA Document Solutions Europe B.V.

In doing so, JANUS will be renamed to KYOCERA Document Solutions Czech and, after several decades of successful partnership, will become the 18th sales unit of KYOCERA Document Solutions Europe.

Legal support to the sellers was provided by Alois Šatava, a partner of ŘANDA HAVEL LEGAL, and the senior lawyers Michal Pálinkás and Pavel Mlíkovský.

The acquisition of JANUS spol. s r.o. is in line with Kyocera’s strategic goal for expanding into EMEA. For KYOCERA Document Solutions Czech, this is a very important step, as it strengths its position in Central and Eastern Europe. Jiří Hubený, CEO of KYOCERA Document Solutions Czech, will continue leading its teams based in Prague and Bratislava.

Best lawyers for IT Law

Congratulations! act legal Germany is listed as top law firm and its partner Dr. Florian Wäßle, LL.M. as top lawyer for IT law in the German business journal WirtschaftsWoche. Every year, it publishes an exclusive ranking of leading law firms and lawyers in Germany for IT law.

Handelsblatt Research Institute first identified 538 IT law experts from 74 law firms. Those were asked to name their top 5 IT lawyers and law firms in a peer group analysis. Afterwards, a specialist jury evaluated the results of the resulting list of 105 lawyers from 50 law firms. 

This year’s jury consisted of corporate counsel Jan Eckert from ZF Friedrichshafen, Philipp Haas from Robert Bosch, Isolde Würz from Thyssenkrupp, Claas Westermann from RWE and for the scientific perspective Achim Schunder as branch manager of C.H.Beck.

act legal Poland acquires a superyacht from Rossinavi shipyard for one of its clients

act legal Poland has assisted one of its clients in a transaction of construction and acquisition of a 50m/164ft Aston 50 superyacht commissioned by a private client built by Rossinavi shipyard based in Viareggio (Italy). The superyacht has naval architecture from Arrabito Naval Architects, interiors from Lazzarini Pickering Architetti and exterior styling from Enrico Gobbi of Team4Design.

act BSWW legal&tax provided legal services throughout the whole process of ordering, construction and acquisition of the superyacht, assisting its client also with respect to Italian and English aspects of the transaction.

act BSWW lawyers were responsible for the preparation and execution of the shipbuilding contract including: (i) advice on contractual documentation regarding purchase of the vessel, (ii) assistance in financing arrangements regarding construction and acquisition of the yacht and (iii) assistance in delivery of the vessel and closing of the transaction itself. The team working on this project consisted of partners of the firm: Marta Kosiedowska and Marek Wojnar.

act legal Poland assists Ideal Idea group company in acquisition of property

act legal Poland was advising a company belonging to Ideal Idea group (one of the leading companies that construct and lease high-quality office and warehousing developments in Poland) throughout the process related to the acquisition of a real property located at Mieczysława Słowikowskiego street (at the border of Warsaw and Raszyn, right next to S2 ring road).

The scope of consulting services included a due diligence review of the property, preparation of transaction documents, support in negotiations and closing the deal. Michał Wielhorski (attorney-at-law and Managing Partner at act BSWW) acted as the team leader. He was supported by Mateusz Prokopiuk (attorney-at-law, Senior Associate) and Michał Sołtyszewski (attorney-at-law, Senior Associate).

The company intends to develop one of the most modern warehousing and office facilities in Warsaw. The complex featuring small business units with a total area of 19,500 m² will offer warehousing modules of 500-850 m² and office space with raised floor, glass doors and 2.7-meter skylights. Standard office modules will have an area of 110 m². Tenants will also be able to use conference rooms, a fitness center and viewing terrace. The company acts as the complex’s designer and general contractor.
