act legal Spain strengthens its commitment to responsible AI alongside UNESCO and OdiseIA

As part of its commitment to the responsible use of AI, act legal Spain supports UNESCO’s research activity through its participation in the following working groups:

- AI in the public sector, aimed at creating the first global open repository on the use of AI in the public sector, developed through cooperation between CSOs and the academic community.

- International AI red lines, initially focused on identifying and defining the boundaries of AI systems that pose unacceptable cross-border risks or adverse impacts on human rights and global stability, while exploring pathways towards broad international consensus and agreement.

- Empowerment of citizens and civil society in AI governance, designed to initially strengthen the influence and effectiveness of civil society and citizens in AI governance through capacities development, collaboration promotion, and the progress on a shared agenda.

The target date for achieving these objectives is April 2026, when the working groups will present their results.

This collaboration has been made possible thanks to act legal Spain’s alliance with the Observatorio del Impacto Social y Ético de la Inteligencia Artificial en España (Observatory of the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Spain) (OdiseIA), established in 2024 to support its activity and contribute to its community.

act legal Spain celebrates this valuable opportunity to cooperate with UNESCO and other civil society organisations which are part of its academic network and share a common conviction about the importance of responsible use of AI and the mitigation of inherent risks.
