One of the core requirements of a lease agreement is that the tenant and landlord agree that “a property or part of it” will be made available for use. This, in principle, establishes the scope and condition of the leased premises. Still, tenants often wish to adapt the property to their own needs. According to the law, this is generally not permitted. So how can tenants still make alterations? And in what ways can landlords prevent or undo unwanted changes?
