Our energy law experts – Jan Havel of act legal Czechia and Milan Malata of act legal Slovakia – participated in the 18th European Nuclear Energy Forum (ENEF), held in Bratislava on 6–7 October 2025.

ENEF is one of the most important platforms for professional dialogue on nuclear energy in Europe. This year’s edition focused on the role of nuclear power in decarbonisation and Europe’s energy security, as well as on the investment and regulatory aspects of developing new nuclear technologies. Key topics included project preparation and permitting, financing and public–private partnerships, long-term radioactive waste management, and innovation in small modular reactors (SMRs).

The forum reaffirmed the growing importance of nuclear energy as a reliable and low-carbon source within the evolving European energy landscape.
